Factotum Privacy Notice
Information Shared With Us and Other Participants
Account information: You do not need to create an account to experience Factotum. However, we may require creating an account for certain features such as visualizing non-public data or Single Sign-On authentication. You can create an account by authenticating through GitHub or GitLab. If you create an account through a third-party services provider, we receive the email address associated with that third-party account.
GitHub Repositories: Factotum does not store any information (source code, secrets, contribution history, etc.) from your private data sources beyond your local device. Information about your data sources is pulled from service providers' APIs (eg GitHub), and may be stored on your local device(s), but it is not stored by any Rebecker service.
Other Information We Receive
We use technical, interaction, error, and website analytics data to help us improve the Factotum experiences:
Technical data: We receive data about the type of devices used to interact with Factotum, as well as their operating systems, languages, the names and versions of browsers, and other non-identifying data.
Interaction data: We receive data about interactions with Factotum, such as the number of users, the amount of time users interact with Factotum through virtual reality, orientation of the headset, controller(s) and/or hand(s), and the first time in a particular month or day that a user begins to use Factotum.
Error Data: When Factotum crashes or fails, Rebecker receives error messages which may include response times for network requests, the size of the data sources and time offset being visualized when the error happened, the user's operating system, browser information, high-level CPU load and memory usage, and IP address. If the user is authenticated, we will also send the email address so Rebecker can follow up with additional support as necessary.
Information We Collect for Published Code Tours
Code tours you create: Rebecker stores scenes, recorded audio, orientation data for headset, controllers, and/or hands, pinned images, 3D models, pre-processed data from specified sources (eg GitHub), and avatars that users import so we can convey them to other users.
Attribution information: When someone publishes a code tour to Factotum, they have the option to “allow Rebecker to promote your code tour.” If the user chooses this option, Rebecker will share the code tour and attribution information publicly.
Account information: To publish a code tour to Factotum, a user must have a Rebecker account. Rebecker will receive and store a hashed version of their email address to allow them to log in.
Information We Collect about Your Subscription
Rebecker account information: A Factotum subscription requires a GitHub or GitLab account, which sends Rebecker your email address.
Payment information: When you subscribe to the Services, you will send payment through one of our third-party payment providers: GitHub, Apple, PayPal, or Google Pay. Rebecker receives a record of your account (including your billing address and the last four digits of your payment method) and the status of your account's subscription, but does not store your full payment details. The payment providers may also collect personal transactional data or device information via web browser cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve their service. You can learn more about how these companies use and process your data by reviewing their Privacy Notices, which are available on each of their respective websites.
